Golf is a sport like no other. Admittedly, a certain physical ability also plays a role, but golf is really rather a mental sport which can evoke enormous mental pressure in competitive situations and in which it is often the gentle shots which set the tone — like putting, for example.
If you have already been on a golf course, you’ll know how difficult it is to hit the ball at all when you’re just starting out. For this reason, beginners are recommended to start by trying out some swings at the driving range. Correct body positioning plays just as important a role as precise hand-eye coordination, calmness and the right technique.
After all, golf is largely a sport which is based on having the perfect technique. In the beginning, the golf club plays a less important role. If you think the aim is simply to hit the ball as hard as possible with the biggest swing possible, you’re sadly mistaken. It is rather down to a combination of the launch angle and the smooth motion of the body, arm and wrist. Once you have these necessary ingredients in the same pot, the ball flies almost on its own — and the first beginners start to have their first promising experiences.

Golf clubs are broadly divided into wood and iron clubs. The main differences are in the weight and shape of the different clubs. As a general rule, the putter also has practically no launch angle, meaning it is not possible to use it to play the ball over larger distances. However, its advantage lies in that it makes it possible to hit the ball in a straight line with a high degree of accuracy.
